My Story

I am a Portrait Photographer with a passion for shooting Mixed Martial Arts

But it wasn’t always that way. I began my career in 2005 as a Wedding Photographer, in the trenches of true photojournalistic event work. In that first year alone I ended up shooting over 20 Weddings, and really got exposed to many of the typical scenarios that present themselves in a fast paced, story rich environment. It was an incredible learning experience.

By 2007 I was working primarily as a Corporate Event Photographer, specializing in National Sales Meetings, Trade Shows, and most importantly, Team Building Events. It was in these moments that I really began to discover the opportunity to tell an emotional story based on my unique perspective. My goal was always to give the viewer a sense of “what it was like to be there” and above all else is what I would strive to achieve.

In 2009 I discovered the fight community that exists in Atlanta and immediately immersed my self in it. In fact it’s where I spend the majority of my event photography time these days. I am a regular fixture at all the biggest promotions and I serve as the Primary Photographer for Georgia Fighters Magazine. I also contribute to other magazines as well as several online publications.

It was also in this world that I began to gain experience as a Portrait Photographer. I am regularly asked to shoot promotional fight poster photos which has led to a better understanding of the more technical aspects of photography. Things like choosing locations, mastering lighting, working directly with a subject (as opposed to shooting from afar) are all skill sets I have developed rapidly over the past few years.

In 2010 I began to offer this service more widely, to everyday people looking for unique portraits. Not your typical “headshot” but rather a more complex study of the subject interpreted by me as both the photographer and the artist. I specialize in creating a more intimate, more natural type of portrait. These days it makes up the majority of the work I do, and I can often be found in and around my studio in Midtown Atlanta, bringing out the most interesting aspects of my subjects.
